During the last years, Oil & Gas business used AI in data science to make the complex data used for oil and gas exploration and production more reachable.
Industry Report by Mordor Intelligence says "It is increasingly being used to improve various upstream, midstream, and downstream processes in the industry, from boiler diagnostics to actual drilling. Applications such as quality control, prediction planning, and predictive maintenance for upstream, midstream, and downstream majorly use AI."
